What Are Dentures?

Dentures are removable replacement teeth. A partial denture fills the gaps between your remaining teeth, while a full denture replaces every tooth in the upper or lower jaw. They're made to fit your mouth and are taken out for cleaning.

At Dr Ray & Partners Dental in Bandar Mahkota Cheras, you try your denture in wax before it's finished, so the look and bite are right before the final version is made.

Is Dentures Right for You?

Dentures are a practical choice when several teeth are missing or surgery isn't right for you.

You're missing several teeth, or all of them, in one or both jaws.

Your current denture is loose, cracked or rubs your gums.

You'd prefer to avoid surgery for now.

You want a lower-cost way to replace several teeth at once.

We'll also explain implants and bridges, so you can compare every option.

Your questions, answered.

What patients usually want to know before Dentures.

A partial denture replaces a few missing teeth and clips onto the teeth you still have. A full denture replaces all the teeth in one jaw and rests on the gums.

Most people adjust within a few weeks. Speaking and eating can feel strange at first. We'll see you for adjustments if anything rubs or feels loose.

Often, yes. As your gums change shape over time, a denture can loosen. Bring it in and we'll tell you whether it can be adjusted or needs replacing.

Implants are fixed and feel more like natural teeth, but they need surgery and cost more. Dentures are quicker and more affordable. We'll explain both so you can choose what fits your needs and budget.

It depends on whether you need a partial or full denture and the material used. We'll confirm the cost after your assessment.
