Dental X-Ray in Cheras
Panoramic and 3D CBCT X-rays, taken on site.
The systems we use
Panoramic and 3D on site
One Vatech unit takes both, so there's no second trip.
Bone, roots and nerves in 3D
We measure bone and find the nerve before surgery.
A lower dose than hospital CT
Built for the jaw, with far less radiation than CT.
What Is a Dental X-Ray?
A dental X-ray shows what a check-up can't: the roots, the jawbone and problems hidden between or beneath your teeth. We take two kinds. A panoramic X-ray captures all your teeth and both jaws in one image. A CBCT (Cone Beam Computed Tomography) scan is a 3D X-ray we can rotate and examine layer by layer, which is most useful for implants, impacted wisdom teeth and complex root canals.
At Dr Ray & Partners Dental in Bandar Mahkota Cheras, we have a Vatech PaX-i3D Smart on site, which takes both. Your images are ready in minutes, and we'll go through them with you on screen.
From first visit to finish.
Getting in position
You stand or sit still with your chin resting on a support. Nothing goes in your mouth.
The X-ray
The arm rotates once around your head, which takes well under a minute.
Viewing the images
A panoramic X-ray shows all your teeth at once. A CBCT scan is built into a 3D model we can turn and slice on screen.
Going through it together
We show you the images and explain what they mean for your treatment.
Is Dental X-Ray Right for You?
We suggest an X-ray when we need to see what a check-up can't, usually before surgery, implants or root canal treatment.
You're considering a dental implant.
Your wisdom tooth is impacted or sits close to the nerve.
A root canal or hidden problem needs a closer look.
We need a full view of your teeth, jaws and sinuses before treatment.
If we suggest an X-ray, we'll always explain which type, what it will show and why it matters for your case.
Your questions, answered.
What patients usually want to know before Dental X-Ray.
We take panoramic X-rays and 3D CBCT scans on our Vatech PaX-i3D Smart. A panoramic X-ray shows all your teeth and both jaws in a single flat image. A CBCT scan shows your teeth, bone, nerves and sinuses in 3D.
CBCT stands for Cone Beam Computed Tomography. It's a dental X-ray that rotates around your head and builds a 3D image of your teeth, jawbone, nerves and sinuses, rather than a single flat picture.
Yes. Dental X-rays use a low dose of radiation. A CBCT scan uses more than a panoramic X-ray but much less than a hospital CT scan. We only suggest an X-ray when the extra detail will make your treatment safer or more accurate.
A CBCT scan is an X-ray that shows what's inside: bone, roots and nerves. A 3D intraoral scan is an optical camera scan of the outside of your teeth and gums, with no radiation. Implant planning often uses both.
It depends on the type of X-ray and the area that needs imaging. We'll confirm the cost at your consultation.
